💬 Why This Matters to Me
My name is Debbie Leigh Driver — and I wasn’t supposed to be here. At 17, I broke my back in three places. I was told I’d be dead or paralysed.
I spent six months in bed, learning to walk again while everyone else lived their lives.

But I walked again

I became a personal trainer

I ran the London Marathon

I built my own music business

I recorded two albums

I taught myself guitar — and now I teach others
I don't do well with authority 😄 — so I built my life on my own terms. Self-employed. Self-taught. Self-made.

But the truth goes deeper.

After my 16th birthday, I lost three friends to road accidents and suicide.

I tried to take my own life too.

There was no counselling, no therapy, no support — just blackness.

I know trauma. I know grief.

I know what it’s like to lose everyone and still have to find a way forward.

Music was my anchor.

It gave me something solid when everything else was broken.
Now, I use it to help others find their way back too.
